6  A Modified Nonlinear Chirp Scaling Algorithm Based on Four-order Phase Model for High Squint Mode Airborne SAR Imaging
XIAO Jing HU Xuecheng ZHANG Hong
    2013(6):19-23.
    [Abstract](4596) [HTML](0) [PDF 0.00 Byte](0)
    Abstract:
On the condition of the squint mode imaging, there exits the serious phase coupling effect between the range and azimuth dimension in the echoes of synthetic aperture radar (SAR), which will have bad impact on high-resolution focusing. Nonlinear chirp scaling (NCS) algorithm performs a three-order phase filtering in the two-dimensional frequency and compensates the linear range variance on secondary range compression (SRC), which ameliorates the focusing performance to a certain extent. But with the increase of the squint angle, the influence that four-order and above phase and nonlinear range variance on SRC exert on high-resolution focusing is also augmented, which will deteriorate the imaging effect. A refined NCS based on the four-order phase polynomial model is proposed in this paper. The algorithm performs the three and four-order phase filtering in the two-dimensional frequency to compensate the phase coupling at the reference range and meanwhile compensates nonlinear range variance on SRC. The imaging results of simulation and live data demonstrate the feasibility and validity of the method are proposed in this paper.

    [Abstract](4638) [HTML](0) [PDF 0.00 Byte](1)
    Abstract:
The chirp non-linearity in linear frequency modulated continuous wave (LFMCW) radar systems causes range resolution and capability of object detection deterioration. A new software method for non-linearity is proposed in this paper. Based on the analysis of the frequency control characteristics of current the VCO components, the affection of non linearity of frequency modulation to the beat frequency echo signal is discussed. The detection of objects in radar which has the non-linearity of frequency modulation can be converted to the detection of the frequency modulation components in beat frequency echo signal. Use the energy aggregation property of fractional fourier transform (FRFT) to LFM signal, the method for multi objects detection based FRFT is presented. The simulation results show that not only the range resolution but the resolution capability of multi-object is largely improved.

    2013(6):34-37.
    [Abstract](4718) [HTML](0) [PDF 0.00 Byte](1)
    Abstract:
Sparse decomposition is effective in separating signal and noise, and it can be used to remove noise. In this paper, a redundancy match dictionary is designed for radar echo signal sparse representation, and the signal sparsity is equal to the detecting target number. As the stop threshold of the sparsity adaptive matching pursuit(SAMP) algorithm is not applicable for sparse decomposition in low signal to noise ratio(SNR) conditions, the iteration adaptive matching pursuit(IAMP) algorithm is proposed using normalized residual difference as stop condition, making sparse decomposition adaptively stop according to noise level. Signal sparsity estimation is implemented by way of successive approximation, and much improvement on decomposition accuracy is obtained. Extensive simulation results show that the IAMP algorithm is effective in radar echo signal sparse decomposition in low SNR conditions without sparsity information, and the SNR of sparse decomposition signal is largely improved.

    [Abstract](4662) [HTML](0) [PDF 0.00 Byte](0)
    Abstract:
Classic Mallat wavelet modulus maxima denoising method is difficult to meet the performance requirements for wideband radar signal processing because of its high degree of complexity of the procedure and the large amount of calculation. An improved modulus maxima denoising algorithm based on “path”is proposed according to the basic principles of classic WTMM, which includes adaptive threshold estimation and piecewise polynomial interpolation. Choosed LFM signal for wideband radar transmitter signal, the high-resolution image (HRRP) of a broadband radar target is denoised with the improved modulus maxima denoising method. Matlab simulation results showed that the improved modulus maxima denoising algorithm turns in a good performance of signal denoising, with which the SNR of broadband radar echos can be increased effectively and the most of target feature information can be retained.

    [Abstract](4489) [HTML](0) [PDF 0.00 Byte](3)
    Abstract:
For the problem of phased array radar's limited resources in saturation-attack, a beam position sequence dynamic arrangement algorithm based on target detection probability calculation under guidance of target's cuing information is presented. This algorithm divided the guide-searching space based on target's cuing information and boundary constraint conditions. Then the beam position arrangement model is chosen by the task's type, the probability of target discovery of different beam positions is calculated. The dynamic beam position search sequence model is constructed through pre-estimating the radar's resources to ensure the number and sequence of the beam position's irrational under the principle of maximizing the probability of target discovery. The simulation results show that the algorithm is effective to reduce the phased array radar resources requirements, and that the phased array radar's ability to detect and track the multi-target in saturation-attack case has been improved.

    Abstract:
Long M sequences have large time-bandwith products and LPI have advantage in the radar confront, but the development of long M Sequences are blocked because of its high time sidelobes. The pesk sidelobe level is successfully suppressed by the mismatch filter in time dominate. But the performance's variations of mismatch filter that based on SNR and Doppler frequence is unknown. At last, the influence of the SNR and Doppler frequence for the mismatch filter is analysed in this paper, and there is a conclution that the mismatch filter would have a good job while the environment has a high SNR.

CAO Fei LIU Qingyun XIN Zengxian
    2013(6):69-72.
    [Abstract](4565) [HTML](0) [PDF 0.00 Byte](0)
    Abstract:
A rigorous mathematical analysis of cross-eye jamming in a radar system scenario and an expression for the induced angular error due to the cross-eye jammer are presented. The simulation results show that there is a Doppler difference between jamming and target return. The Doppler difference increases with the decrease of the distance between the monopulse radar and the platform protected by cross-eye jammer. When the power of target return is not small enough with respect to the power of jamming transmitted by one of the two sources, maybe the sign of the indicated angle is uncontrollable. The simulation results also show that al though the cross-eye gain is maximized if two jamming signals are equal amplitude and antiphase. Though the cross-eye gain is maximized if two jamming signals are equal anplitude and antiphase, this condition shouldn't be satisfied in practice
